Located in the heart of downtown San Antonio, the Argyle has been a landmark since it was built in 1875. For more than a century, it has been a witness to the city’s history, from its early days as a frontier town to its present-day status as a thriving metropolis.

The book chronicles the property’s transformation from a private residence to a public hotel, and its important role in the city’s social and political life.
