The Argyle of San Antonio

The Argyle of San Antonio tells the fascinating story of one of the most iconic properties in Texas. Located in the heart of downtown San Antonio, the Argyle has been a landmark since it was built in 1875. For more than a century, it has been a witness to the city’s history, from its early days as a frontier town to its present-day status as a thriving metropolis.

The book chronicles the property’s transformation from a private residence to a public hotel, and its important role in the city’s social and political life. Through interviews with current and former owners, guests, and employees, The Argyle of San Antonio paints a rich picture of this beloved institution.
